Meet BISS Ch.Rocket City's Hakeem. This handsome Bulldog came to us all the way from Alva, Oklahoma, home of Saltfork Kennels. Jerry & Jeanette Williams are the proud breeders of this fine champion. Hakeem has been a nice addition to our home, along with being the littermate to Ch.Rocket City's Rudy T. Once Keemer advanced our training in how to show a Bulldog, he went on to become our 1st champion. At 15 months old, and the Rocky Mountains in Denver Colorado as a background, Hakeem completed his championship with a 3 point major. It was a thrill that Pat and I will always remember! Next in line was a very successful "Special" career. After taking a few months off to mature, Hakeem came out and was an immediate hit. He went on to accumulate over 70 BOB wins, including three Specialty wins. Two, Non-Sporting Group 1's are among his many group placements. Keemer has consistently been a top 50 ranked Bulldog since 1998, reaching as high as number 10 in 2000. Winning Best of Breed at the Bulldog Club of Texas, under Breeder/Judge Wayne Brower, capped off a wonderful year in 2000. Hakeem again qualified for the Eukanuba Championships in 2000 for being a top 20 ranked Bulldog. 2001 saw Hakeem enter the Westminster KC Show, along with his niece Ch.Rocket City's M-N-M. This show is considered the premier all-breed show in the states, with only 2500 champions being able to compete for Best In Show. We did not win, but had a great time. BISS Ch.Cherokee Legend Donna took home top Bulldog honors. Hakeem, Pat and I would like to thank Tom and Linda Pickens for making this one of our all time Bulldog memories. Ch.Bullywood's Steel Magnolia has recently become the first champion sired by Hakeem. Thanks to Leigh Meeks for believing that our boy could contribute to her breeding program!! Sept.2002: Another Hakeem sired Bully finishes! New Champion Rocket City's Gum Drop finishes with a prestigous 3 point major, awarded by respected Breeder/Judge Stewart Wagner, in Tyler Texas. At just 15 months old, she made her breeders proud. Sept.2003: Another champion sired! Ch.Rocket City's Hannah Spears becomes Hakeem's 3rd champion that he has sired. Hannah finished in a flurry by winning 10 points, including a 4 point major, during her last 1 & 1/2 months of showing. Watch for her littermate, Skittles, who is pointed with multiple major reserve wins. Nov.2003: New Ch.Rocket City's Skittles Spears does it! By winning two, 4 point majors in three days, this Hakeem sired girl completes her championship. Wow! Did this girl warm things up in Priceville Alabama or what? Congratulations to the breeders (Chuck & Linda), Dee Germany who has done a wonderful job of giving Skittles a great home and showing her, and to Karen Silver who handled her to all of her points. Dec. 2005: Ch.Betsy Hakeem Spears completes her championship under respected Judge Pat Hastings at the NW Arkansas Kennel Club Show. Betsy is a littermate to Skittles and Hannah Spears. Chuck & Linda Spears are the proud owners and breeders. Congratulations to the both of them on raising such a fine litter. Betsy is also the 1st dog that they have shown--WAY TO GO!!! We are very proud of Hakeem's contribution to the breed. He has had very few quality breedings and the results are reflective of what he can contribute. Becoming our couch potato has now become Hakeem's top priority. Periodic competitions will bring him out of retirement. FLASH!!!!February 2003--Hakeem comes out of retirement and wins the Veteran's class at The Bulldog Club of Texas Spring Specialty Show. He then goes on to win Best of Opposite Sex over some very nice Specials. Congratulations Hakeem!
