Emmy "Ahhhhh a walk in the garden"

Welcome back Emmy! Rocket City's M-N-M has found her way back home after a short leave of absence. Tom and Linda Pickens have graciously provided a wonderful home for our red/brindle & white standard size girl. Boy are we glad to see her!

Emmy is a pleasant reminder of her dad--Ch.Rocket City's Rudy T. She is cobby, nice boned, has an adequate head with a very nice jaw. Her expression is one of her better attributes. Also, Emmy is a flashy looking girl who loves to sit up like her dad. She really enjoys the show ring too.

This is a Bully girl to watch out for in the ring. She made her show debut in Texarkana, Arkansas on 06/17/00 with a third in the Open Class. The next day Emmy took second out of six in the Open class, and then brought home Reserve Winners Bitch. In the next several months, Emmy has been on quite a hot streak. Hopefully, it won't be long and we will have our first home-bred champion. Thanks again, Tom & Linda, for always having Emmy in tip top shape for the ring.

Since attaining her championship, Tom and Linda have started working on Emmy's health certs. She currently has her eye CERF (BU-179/2000--17), and her heart certification (BU-CA00012/20F/P-NOPI). When Emmy turns two, she will have her hips and elbows x-rayed to see if they will will qualify for OFA certification.

NEWS FLASH!!!

Emmy completed her championship on 9/17/00 in a glorious way. She not only went Winners Bitch and Best of Winners, but went Best of Breed over a nice Special. This win was also her third major. From the time Emmy won her first point, it took less than two months to attain her championship status. It was quite a ride. This wonderful girl is our fourth champion and first homebred. Thanks to everyone for all of their support!! A very SPECIAL salute to Tom and Linda Pickens for making this joyous moment possible.

MORE SHOW NEWS

  • Ch. Rocket City's M-N-M (Emmy) is still having fun in the show ring. Linda has taken over the lead and Emmy has four Best of Opposite sex wins to her credit in five showings since becoming a champion. Linda and Tom are planning on showing this wonderful girl on a limited basis. Look for her at the Nationals in November. A spring breeding is planned to Ch. Flippin's Jahidi.

  • The 2000 Bulldog Club of America Nationals, was a fun experience for Emmy. Under respected breeder judge Elizabeth Karshner, Emmy made the final cut of six bitches being considered for Best of Breed. That was very exciting for Pat and Emmy!! The remaining shows were uneventful for Emmy. The most important thing was that she had a good experience at such a large show.

  • February will bring some anticipation for Emmy, the Pickens' and the Rzonca's, as Emmy will be accompanying her uncle BISS Ch.Rocket City's Hakeem to New York. They will participate in the big Westminster Kennel Club Show. Only dogs who have completed their championship qualifications can compete at this prestigous event. We are going with the expectation of only having fun!

  • Westminster was a blast!! Emmy pulled her daddy's "sit up" trick in the big ring. Everyone who saw it, thought it was great. Emmy showed as well as ever, against some very tough competition. It was so crowded that Tom had to carry her back and forth to the ring. In a warm-up before Westminster, Emmy was shown at two Specialties in Secaucaus,NJ. Emmy made the final cut under Kyle Fisher for BOB, BOS consideration. It was good practice for Westminster. After Westminster, Pat, Linda, Hakeem, Emmy, Jedi, and Angel, all headed to Greenville,NC. Emmy won two Best of Opposite Sex awards over some very tough bitch competition while there. Guess Linda still has got the touch!!--LOL!! Thanks again to Tom and Linda for making the Westminster trip a reality!!

  • At it Again!! (Late 2002)
  • Emmy has come out of hibernation to go Best of Breed, then take a Group 3 at the Wenatchee Kennel Club shows. In the process, Emmy wins the coveted "Apple Trophy". Then, Emmy takes a couple of her kids to the Nationals, in Minnesota, and wins Best Brood Bitch on Nationals day. This will be another memory that Linda and Rocket City Bulldogs will cherish forever.

  • October 23rd,2003
  • Emmy decided that being a "stay at home mom" was not her cup of tea. After sending out her 2nd litter of pups to great homes, Linda decided to let Emmy give the Specials ring a try. She has not let Linda down. With Laura Gellerson at the lead, Emmy has won over 30 BOB's, along with multiple group placements. She has been consitantly ranked in the Top 20. Congratulations to Linda & Laura on the wonderfull job they are doing with our 1st Bred-By champion. Congratulations are in order for Emmy qualifying for The Eukanuba Invitaional this year (2003) by finishing the year in the top 25 rankings of Bulldogs.

  • November 2nd,2003
  • Emmy becomes eligible for The Bulldog Club of America Brood Bitch Hall of Fame. When Ch.Picabully's Rocky Rolls, won his last three points today, that gave Emmy her 4th champion whelped, which is what it takes to qualify her for this prestigous honor! Congratulations to Tom & Linda Pickens (co-owners of Emmy) and to Laura Gellerson on her latest champion (Rocky).
