When it came time to breed Ch.Rocket City's White Divinity for the first time, Karen Silver (co-owner of Diva) and us had a lot of discussions on who to breed this champion bitch to. At the end of the day, we finally agreed that our BISS Ch.Rocket City's Orange Crush would be a good choice. We were excited as time approached to breed Diva. As is the case with many breedings, we had to overcome many obstacles to make it happen. Crusher had not been the easiest to collect in the past, so we decided to take him to Diva and do a fresh semen breeding. When Diva was ready to breed, we made arrangements to meet Karen in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 1st breeding went pretty smoothly, in the back of our Dodge Caravan, at a local gas station..LOL. We decided to go have some dinner at one of the better known Cajun restaurants in the area. On the way there, the air conditioning broke down in my Caravan. This was not good, as I had a 200 mile trip home in 90 degree heat. It was late afternoon on a Saturday, with mechanics far & few between. Eventually, I found a small mechanic shop, along with the part I needed to get the van fixed. I had to buy the part from a local parts store. By 8:00PM, I finally got the van fixed. We drove to the restaurant and ate, and then did another breeding in the back of the van. I made it home, but the air conditioning went down again the next day. I guess you could say our luck was a little better!

Now, we had the long wait to see if Diva was going to give us babies. Eventually, we got the call from Karen saying that Diva was going to give us her 1st litter of Bully babies. This would also be Crusher's 1st litter of pups. After some anxious moments wondering if Diva took, Karen called to let us know that Diva had taken. Now, we just had to wait for the puppies. On 9/30/04, Karen called with the good news...puppies were here and healthy. The development of this litter was slow at first. After several months of growing, we knew we had some good puppies. The three of us decided to place three males & one female with people that had just begun to show. One couple, Ken & Jondra, who had never shown before, got Soldier. While Jim & Lisa Bullard came to Houston to pick up a female that they would eventually champion, Jim convinced us to let them take Grady, also. Steve & Kathy Mentz got Warrior. The best female, (Bunny) went to a freind of Karen's, Maureen Waddell.

It is is now March of 2006 and all three of the boys have won majors. One of the males, Rocket City's T-Mac in Houston (Grady), has won two Specialty show RWD's (5 pointers), along with several other 4 & 5 point all breed major reserves. SilverSteak's Renegade Warrior has won both of his majors and is well on his way to his championship with 8 points as of 3/3/06. SilverStreaks Soldier's Showdown has one major and 8 points towards his championship as of 3/4/06. Bunny has yet to win a point, but is starting to come into her own. 9/03/06 Today, Warrior completed his championship in Monroe Louisiana. Warrior is the third pup to finish from this litter in the last eight days. Who would have ever thought that when we did this breeding in the back of our Caravan almost two years ago, that we would have had this kind of results. We are still hopefull that Bunny will complete her championship and put Diva in the Brood Bitch Hall of Fame. Good luck to Bunny! We still have a couple of other girls that are out of Diva, that have a shot at completing their championship, also.
